I Can Walk With Your Help - Glass Cane, 2024

Impaired mobility is an incredible physical challenge whether permanent or temporary but the emotional challenge seems greater in some ways. There is a love hate relationship with the devices that offer relief and access - we want them and not at the same time. With the Cane series I seek to expose the push-me / pull-me emotional relationship with assisted mobility though highlighting one of the most difficult obstacles, stairs. This spiral staircase is encased in a glass cane. Within its fragility is wonder and hope.
